Two teenagers were arrested in Houston on suspicion of plotting an attack at a local school, the FBI Houston office said in a post on X Wednesday, the second potential mass attack thwarted by the FBI in the past week.

Evidence suggests their intent was to carry out acts of violence at a school in the Spring Branch Independent School District, law enforcement said.

Two students were arrested Wednesday in the initial charges filed after an attack on Feb. 4 where a boy was assaulted and a girl was spit after a basketball game, authorities said. The attack was fueled by the longstanding sports rivalry between Memorial and Stratford high schools in Spring Branch ISD and took place after a boys varsity basketball game in the parking lot of the Don Coleman Coliseum.
