A flash flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:22 p.m. in effect until 11:30 p.m. for Somerset County.

There are questions over why oversight was eased at Mystic Camp as it expanded in a hazardous floodplain, the AP reported.

The July Fourth flood moved so quickly in the middle of the night that it caught many off guard in a county that lacked a warning system.

Camp Mystic owners successfully appealed to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to redesignate some buildings that had been considered part of a flood-hazard zone.

U.S. President Donald Trump is heading to central Texas on Friday to survey damage from the July 4 flash flood that killed at least 120 people and left dozens more missing. His visit comes amid intense focus on the government response a week after the storm and as thousands of first responders comb through muddy debris,

"The first lady and I are here in Texas to express the love and support and the anguish of our entire nation in the aftermath of this really horrific and deadly flood," Trump said as he spoke at a roundtable event with first responders and local officials.

The threat of heavy rain is “slight” for this weekend, but with the ground fully saturated in Kerr County, even small amounts of rainfall could cause flooding.

A level 2/4 flash flood threat is in effect through Sunday across south central Texas. Already saturated ground from the deadly July 4th flooding could lead to renewed flash flooding, if enough rain falls.
