There have been three human cases of West Nile Virus in California this year, with one fatal case, according to the California Department of Public Health.

The mosquito pools that tested positive were found downtown and in the Sugar House neighborhood. However, SLCoHD says they expect additional mosquito pools to test positive in the next few days and weeks within the county.

The risk of becoming infected with West Nile virus is high in Larimer County, the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment warns.
