Windows 10 death knell sounds, as Microsoft shuts down Beta testing channel – so don’t expect any new features for the OS.

BleepingComputer notes that Microsoft has shut down the official Beta Channel for Windows 10, despite the fact that support for the operating system will continue until October 14, 2025. According to yesterday’s Windows Insider blog post:

With less than a year to go before Windows 10 bites the dust, Microsoft has announced that the Insider Beta Channel is once again shutting down.

Microsoft is shutting down the Windows 10 Insider Beta Channel just five months after launching it. All Insiders on this Channel will be moved to the Release Preview Channel.

Five months ago, Microsoft revived Beta Channel for Windows 10. Now, it is killing it again, with 19045.5194 being the final Beta update.

Five months after reviving it in June, ​Microsoft has shut down the Windows 10 Beta Channel and will move all enrolled Windows Insiders to the Release Preview Channel.

The Windows 11 Insider build 22635.4510 is out on the Beta Channel with minor improvements for the taskbar and Narrator. It also brings back the the new Gamepad keyboard layout for the Windows 11 on-screen keyboard.
