The rollback of sick leave protections is the latest example of Missouri officials relitigating and undermining policies enacted by voters through direct democracy.

The state's minimum wage, which voters approved increasing at the same time as the paid sick leave provision, also will no longer rise with inflation.

Missourians voted to guarantee paid sick leave for workers and have incremental increases to the minimum wage. However, all of that will end on Aug. 28.
